What better day to watch this video than today? Teixeira just hit 2 homers against Arizona! He went 2-3, 2HRs, 4RBIs (Also today, Smoltz became the Braves' strikeout leader). We won 6-2.

Justice: from disco to aggressive electro, they are jaw-droppers. Word around is that they are the new Daft Punk...nono.. they did what DP should have done (they do share the same manager/headofrecord Pedro Winter). I know they are kinda old now, but I want to share the simplicity of these guys, plus I haven't posted anything since April 5th (There, I said it H). Justice on "Do the D.A.N.C.E.". "It took a long time. It was a very ambitious project for us because we had to write the lyrics in English and find the singers. We used a children's choir in London and recorded it at Strongroom Studios. There was only two hours of rehearsals for the children before the recording. We purposely wanted something really fresh and naive, so that's the one reason we used the children's choir. We took the recordings back to Paris and edited every word to make it fit exactly how we wanted it. We did the music first, then the lyrics. It's meant to be a tribute to Michael Jackson, so we thought it would be funny to have children singing the lyrics to the track and of course the "Easy as ABC" references. We compose everything, replace individual parts, de-tune them and so on. The strings are chords we played and then replaced the MIDI with individual string samples. Thats how the chord stabs ended up on the new single" Justice on how they sequenced 'Cross', We use Cubase -version SX- and Garageband. Really, we don't want to use any other software. We are happy just using Cubase and Garageband"., We have a simple set up: a pair of Genelec 8030s for monitoring (which we think are really ugly). We have a big analogue desk as well, but it doesn't get used any more though; we just do everything inside the computer in Cubase and Garageband.. We've been in the basement for one year, thats why we are so pale!.
I remember the first time I saw Moulin Rouge back in the summer of 2001: I wasn't expecting so much beauty intertwined frame after frame in front of my eyes. I admit that my amazement and sensibility to beauty was leveraged by the plain and boring surroundings of PYRAMID MALL's movie theater. I mention this because I remember I was fixed at Ewan McGregor's face in this movie: in many takes he had an uncanny resemblance to my brother Noé. YES, I know they don't look alike BUT in this movie they do (especially when Ewan's eyes look dark, not blueish) I snapped these pics off my TV, so those who know him can see...
Speaking of Australia(Baz Luhrmann, the director and writer, is australian), I met an australian at Hong Kong and we talked about Silverchair, Crowed House, Kylie, Baz, Kangaroos, the outback, Steve Irwin.... AND the population of Australia: I DIDNT KNOW it had a population of about 20 millions!!! Google it up and you find it has a density of 2.6/km2. Maybe you all knew this, but I thought there were more Aussies down there! Its like throwing in two Dominican Republics in that huge mass of land.
PS. Of no relevance, but today is Ewan's bday! Happy Bday Rentboy!! Who needs reasons when you've got love? (merging his heroin-addict-Trainspotting-character with his hopelessly-romactic-Moulin Rouge writer).
Jimmy Rollins said some weeks ago that the "Phillies were the team to best in the NL East".
Now, Chipper on Rollins:
Take 1 (Interview by Martin Gandy) I will never disrespect the other teams in our division by saying that; by guaranteeing some kind of division title or anything like that - that's stupidity. I think we will be a force to be reckoned with in the East.
Take 2 (NYT article.. good one!) "That's the difference in the mentality in Atlanta and the mentality in Philadelphia," Chipper Jones, the Braves' leader, said when asked about Rollins's remark. "We would have never disrespected the rest of the division by proclaiming ourselves division champs before the beginning of the season. The fact that he did, that has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. As far as I can remember, I don't think he has ever won a division. We'll leave it at that."
“We’ll stay quiet and do our own thing,” Jones said, “and we’ll see who’s standing at the top in September.”
In other BB news, this is quite shocking: Former Pitcher Ugueth Urbina Sentenced to 14 Years in Prison The story goes he found some workers using his property (a pool area), when he arrived unannounced to his ranch in Venezuela. He poured gasoline on them and set them on fire (this is only good when proposed by the bandStars), and attacked them with a machete...... again GEEZZZZZZZZZ, last time i was MLB-shocked was when John Rocket made those hellish comments!
P.S. Francoeur=Grand Slam vs the Mets on the first inning today! Braves 8, Mets 3
March 26... what happened on march 26? It rained a lot, well, yeah... I got a flat tire early in the morning, so?wgaf? hmm... what else happened today.... well, Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller covered "All You Need Is Love" live, eyyy wait a minute! say more! "Noel Gallagher plays biggest ever acoustic show!". TOUCHE! he opened with "Talk Tonight" the first ever Oasis song I learned on guitar, the only one I got to teach my brother (of course, right after, I'd say the very next day, he skyrocketed from playing one song to i-can-play-any-song-without-taking-classes). Here's a quick resumé off the NME article: WHERE: Royal Albert Hall WHY: the first Teenage Cancer Trust show WHO: Noel Gallagher + The View + Shack Guests: Paul Weller // Gem Archer and Terry Kirkbride. (Liam was invited but Noel said that he used the words ''fuck' and 'charity' in the same sentence ) WHEN: Earlier today SET: '(It's Good) To Be Free' 'Talk Tonight' 'Fade Away' 'Cast No Shadow' 'Half The World Away' 'The Importance Of Being Idle' 'Butterfly Collector' (The JAM's cover) 'All You Need Is Love' (The Beatles' cover) 'Don't Go Away' (joined by an all-female string section) 'Listen Up' 'Sad Song' 'Wonderwall' 'Slide Away' 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' (The Smiths' cover, and Noel's "favorite song ever") 'Don't Look Back in Anger' 'Married With Children' 'Strawberry Fields Forever' (The Beatles' cover)
NEXT: Tomorrow, second Teenage Cancer Trust gig for Noel, this time joined by his friends The Coral. Noel lent his personal london studio to the Coral to record their next album, he has faith in them even tho the band was disappointed as how their last production was received. Noel gave them the inspiration and the studio (I don't have an exact source for this fact, but I've seen it all over magazines).
BTW!!! Here is Travis' new video for their single "CLOSER" featuring Ben Stiller. eso e una yuca???(I said it was going to be a messy post)
That tshirt that Healy is wearing: "Radio Clyde 261", popularized by Frank Zappa, is going to be selling at my clothing store Armoire Rouge! what a beautiful coincidence! God, I missed them=D
To mess things up a bit more, I want to mention (just in case you don't know): Scorsese and DiCaprio are going to collaborate again and again (remember they are going to work on "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" too!!) "The Wolf of Wall Street" will be about Jordan Belfort's autobiography. From what I could gather, nowadays Belfort is an executive producer, but served 20 months in prison for refusing to cooperate in a famous 90's Wall Street fraud (mob included!!). If you have the time read why it is such an interesting case for an Scorsese movie read this. I can't wait for the Scorsese treatment on that subject (mob included!!)... actually any subject... is it me or The Departed leaves you like a junkie? What a fine movie! (and YOU, yes you know who you are: WATCH IT TONIGHT! get it over with! you won't regret it!).
And a final messy comment: If i lived in NYC, the highlight would be Bjork's early May performances, but another artsy feast to catch at the Big Apple would be Bowie's latest festival equation Arcade Fire + Ricky Gervais + Air + Secret Machines + Polyscary Spree + dunnowhoelse. What Im saying is that if I were Harold, I would go to MSG on May 19, and watch Ricky Gervais standup debut.
It's been a while since my last post, mainly because I've been busy with all the things that accumulate when you are gone for a couple of weeks.
My beloved camera is out of service=(, but I am pretty excited about the new one I am getting=). I didn't snap a lot of pictures on my last trip to China because I felt uninspired taking AUTO pics with a digicam. However here is one titled "Listening to Ultima Bengala on the North Pole" (sorry for the reflection, couldn't use a polarizer filter with the digicam *sigh* =P ). The rest will be up soon in a flickr album.
As you can tell, the topic is an alusion to the sequel of the superb 28 Days Later. Let's hope that without Danny Boyle on board, they do something worth attaching to the first.
